A gigantic chess board is standing in an English garden idea which is directly linked to the Enlightenment and its ideas about democracy. Consequently, the equalised or democratised game questions power structures and activates psychological moments of group organisation. Figur and player, game and ritual become identical. It seems that everybody has to define the rules and his role as king or pawn or just take a chair and make a move off the playground into the park.
