Ghost Light Light House, 2012

Project for Lake Constance in collaboration with the ZF Art Foundation and the Zeppelin Museum, Friedrichshafen, 2012. A light house is usually a building which gives orientation. For his project Ghost Light Light House, Florian Graf is living in his 9 m high light house which is aimlessly moving on Lake Constance. Like a ghost light, it is drifting on the water, visiting the different nations around the lake. The mobile ivory sculpture becomes an image merging with the landscape and emancipating from it at the same time. The video installation shows a replica of the tower from which a film is projected, rotating in space, remembering the performative monument.
