Six concrete casts
46 x 46 x 250 cm each

Installation view between the Fondation Beyeler and the Kunst Raum Riehen, 2014. Six concrete casts taken from existing columns form a poetic situation between ruin, archeological excavation and construction site. They remind us of the mouseion, the greek temple for the muses as a prototype of western art institution. Lying, leaning or standing, they create an anthropomorphic allegory for the area of conflict between individual and collective society. Florian Graf dedicated Columnity to his friend Giulio Romano who sadly died in 1546.
